The Kentucky State Missions Offering is named after Eliza Broadus as she was one of its earliest advocates and mission pioneers.

When Woman’s Missionary Union (WMU) was organized in Virginia in 1888, Miss Broadus was elected vice-president from Kentucky. Her collected service to WMU totaled to 53 years from 1878-1931.

In 1913 Miss Boadus led Kentucky WMU to take an annual offering for state missions in all churches. In 1975 Kentucky WMU voted to name the annual state missions offering in her honor.
